In 1969, Robert Redford purchased land in Utah's Wasatch Mountains below mount Timpanogos. Rather than transforming the canyon into a region of resort hotels on the advice of investors, Redford chose to maintain the pristine quality that had first attracted him to the region. Since then, the annual Sundance Institute, and countless local independent spirits, the village has become a thriving artist community- much in line with Redford's initial vision.

Each year many festival goers return home dismayed that the beautiful handmade jewelry seen in the village cannot be found in their hometown. In response to demand, Robert Redford and several colleagues created an online catalogue, selling local artist sundance on the Internet. Hence, the Sundance Catalog began, selling jewelry, house wares, furnishings, and accessories.

Browse through the Sundance Jewelry catalogue and find jewelry using gemstones, including turquoise that is indigenous to the region, precious metals, and unique handmade jewelry. For an interesting read, sure to view the artists profiles.

Different collections include:

  • Designs by Dana Kellin-
Dana Kellin knows current fashion trends, as she is the former fashion editor of W Magazine. In her elegantly crafted pieces she uses her knowledge of the fashion industry to her advantage. Her designs are innovative combinations of and metals, including: bottle-green Peridot, yellow-gold Tourmaline, deep blue Iolite, and cultured freshwater pearls. The Iolite Trio bracelet, for example, combines three strands of cylindrical Iolite beads, separated by round silver beads.
  • The Ocean of Pearls Collection-
The Pearl Spectrum Stack Rings are rings containing freshwater with a sterling silver setting, and the Blue Pearl Pendant necklace is an exquisite string of iridescent seed pearls with one large central cultured pearl of the lightest shimmering blue.
